Human waste to heat thousands of homes in £4m plan to recycle it into gas

It gives a whole new meaning to cooking with 'natural' gas.

Within two years, thousands of people will be preparing their dinner and heating their homes using methane gas extracted from human waste.

The energy company behind the scheme say the 'sewage works gas' will be clean, environmentally friendly and indistinguishable from the North Sea variety.

Hi Dave,

Good to hear back from you. I'm currently a rising senior at Cornell trying to figure out what I want to do with my life :P. I'm really interesed in social entrepreneurship and want to do something that combines that and travel after graduation next May. Seeing that you've travelled a lot, do you have any suggestions? Are you working on the Alevo project full time? Looks great.
